The father of Saki Sugiura was the private Ukiyo-e collector who enthusiastically collected various types of Ukiyo-e. Saki was fascinated with Ukiyo-e since her childhood following her father. After she acquired her master's degree in art history and worked at the TAG (Tokyo Antique Gallery) for 5 years, then she opened her gallery that focuses only on dealing with Ukiyo-e.
Due to her father being a huge fan of Hokusai, the gallery is well-known for its finest collection of Hokusai. However, Saki is passionate to treat Ukiyo-e from any time and artists. Today the gallery also encourages contemporary artists to create modern Ukiyo-e.
